在那個月黑風高的夜晚

那時我還是個懵懂無知的大學生，當時在台北的某個補習班打工，我還是一位教材的整理專員，那時就常常耳聞其他資深兼職人員說倉庫裡的小搗蛋，有一天我在晚餐的時候（那時因為學生要下課才能吃晚上，時間已經22:00多了），兩位同事坐在我旁邊。

I remember when I was working at a cram school in Taipei during university as an instructional material organizer. Back then, I often heard from other senior part-time staff about the little troublemaker in the warehouse. One day, while I was having dinner (which was already past 10 PM because we had to wait for the students to finish their classes), two colleagues sat beside me."

同事A: 欸，你剛剛去後面倉庫，沒有聽到或看到什麼吧？

同事B: 沒有啊，我去整理教材之後就出來了，怎麼了？

同事A: 我上週一個人在整理教材的時候，有一疊書在鐵架最上層，我就踩著架子往上，結果就感覺有一隻手扶著我的屁股，把我往上推了一把。

同事B: 別鬧，怎麼可能。

我：什麼! 什麼事?? （強裝鎮定，但其實因為下週輪到我要去整理倉庫而想著是否原地離職的我）

同事B: 他就說有一個色鬼，摸他屁股...

同事A: 別亂說，小心下次你遇到。

同事B: 來啊來啊，我是會怕喔。

Colleague A: Hey, when you went to the back warehouse just now, did you hear or see anything?

Colleague B: No, I just went to organize the materials and came out. Why?

Colleague A: Last week, when I was organizing materials alone, there was a stack of books on the top shelf. I stepped on the shelf to reach up, and then I felt a hand on my butt, giving me a push.
Colleague B: Stop kidding, no way that happened.

Me: What! What happened?? (Trying to stay calm, but actually thinking about quitting since I have to organize the warehouse next week.)

Colleague B: He’s saying there’s a perverted ghost that touched his butt…
Colleague A: Don’t say that, be careful or you might be next.
Colleague B: Bring it on, like I’m scared.

突然，燈閃了一下。

All of a sudden, the light flickered.

一週後，到了我要整理教材的日子，忐忑不安的我，走向了傳說中的教材倉庫，這是我第一次去，所以正職同事C陪我一起去。

從旁邊防火巷走進去後直走到底，然後走上旋轉梯（旋轉梯是沒有屋頂遮蔽的老式旋轉梯）

A week later, it was my turn to organize the materials. Feeling anxious, I headed towards the infamous storage room. Since it was my first time going there, a full-time colleague, Colleague C, accompanied me.

We walked straight down the fire lane next to the building and then climbed up a spiral staircase (an old-fashioned spiral staircase without a roof overhead).

到了三樓後，要拉開一道極度不符合人體工學防火門，插入鑰匙後需要拉開鐵門，此時需要非常小心不要摔下樓梯。

After reaching the third floor, we had to pull open a fire door that was extremely unergonomic. After inserting the key, we had to pull open an iron gate, and at this point, we had to be very careful not to fall down the stairs.

進入倉庫後，需要用小小手電筒照亮眼前的一切，由於電燈在鐵架C的底處，找到鐵架C跟D之間的小走道後，走進去到最底，手伸進鐵架後才能碰到開關。

Once inside the warehouse, we had to use a small flashlight to light up everything in front of us. The light switch was located at the bottom of Shelf C. After finding the narrow passage between Shelves C and D, we walked all the way to the end, reached behind the shelf, and finally felt the switch.

按下開關後，燈會陸續的一排一排打開，很有儀式感。

倉庫裡一年四季都是涼涼的，總有一陣冷風不知從哪裡飄出來。

夏天時非常適合在裡面工作，不用冷氣的空間，簡直無限能源了。

After pressing the switch, the lights would turn on one row at a time, creating a very ceremonial feeling.

The warehouse was always cool throughout the year, with a cold breeze that seemed to come from nowhere. In the summer, it was a perfect place to work—an air-conditioned space without needing actual air conditioning, like having endless energy.

之後因為期中考的關係，我請假了兩週，再次去上班時，時間也到了12月底。

Later, due to midterm exams, I took a two-week leave. When I returned to work, it was already the end of December.

———— TWO WEEKS LATER —————

哈囉Everybody ~

這時感覺部門的氣氛有些不同了，大家對我十分客氣，詢問我下週的倉庫盤點工作是否我可以做，因為做一小時就可以算三小時的時段，我也就欣然答應囉（主要是因為他們說要請我吃麥當勞）。

Hello, everybody ~
At this time, the atmosphere in the department felt a bit different. Everyone was very polite to me and asked if I could handle the warehouse inventory work for the following week, as one hour of work would count as three hours. I gladly agreed (mainly because they said they would treat me to McDonald's).

那天記得外面很陰，又是台北典型的冷氣團飄雨冬日，我拿著一支小雨傘，就頤指氣使的走向傳說中的倉庫。

進入倉庫後，我開始了季度盤點，進行到一半，身在鐵架F&G中間的我突然聽到敲門聲！

That day, I remember it was very gloomy outside, a typical rainy and chilly winter day in Taipei. With a small umbrella in hand, I strutted towards the infamous warehouse.

Once inside the warehouse, I started the quarterly inventory. Halfway through, while I was between Shelves F and G, I suddenly heard a knocking sound!

心想應該是同事們要來幫忙了，或是我心心念念的勁辣雞腿堡來惹，「我要開門囉！」，每次推開門前，我們都會大吼，怕把門外的人撞飛。

一推開門，咦～沒人，只有雨打在鐵梯上的聲響還有陣陣的打雷聲。

I thought it might be my colleagues coming to help or perhaps my long-awaited spicy chicken burger. “I’m going to open the door now!” We always shouted before opening the door, to avoid accidentally hitting anyone outside.

When I opened the door, hmm—no one was there. Only the sound of rain hitting the iron ladder and occasional thunder could be heard.

我想應該是雷聲或是雨落在樓梯上的聲音。

回到我的工作崗位，繼續認真盤點的我，此時又聽到了敲門聲，這次不是一聲，是連續的三次敲擊聲，碰！碰！碰！

這次我小跑步到鐵門旁，一樣的大喊「我要開門囉！」 轟的一聲，這次依舊沒～有～人～在外面，我還探頭出去往樓梯下看去，深怕真的將同事撞飛，他才好不容易爬回來又被撞飛一次，上班上到鬧出人命。

I thought it might be the sound of thunder or rain hitting the stairs.

Returning to my work, diligently continuing the inventory, I heard the knocking sound again. This time it wasn’t just one knock but a series of three consecutive knocks: bang! bang! bang!

I hurried to the iron door and shouted once again, “I’m going to open the door now!” With a loud crash, I opened the door to find—once again—no one outside. I even peeked out and looked down the stairs, fearing that if a colleague was indeed out there, I might accidentally knock them down. It would be quite a scene if someone got hurt on the job!

結果，依舊是～沒有人。

In the end, there was still—no one.

這是想到同事們其實時不時都會提到，這倉庫有時會出現怪事，越想越恐怖的我，趕快拿出手機，撥打給當時一位很要好的朋友。

我：「欸欸欸，你快跟我說話。」

朋友：「說什麼？」

我：「說什麼都好，就說話！」

朋友：「喔！今天天氣不錯喔」（睜眼說瞎話，但此時的我不敢反駁）

我：「你週末有什麼計畫啊？要不要去打星海」

朋友：「我不知道欸，都行吧。」

此時的我火速整理教材中，我們的對話也持續進行中...

聊了大概十分鐘後，我也到一個段落了，此時我聽到我朋友說：「什麼？喂～」

我：「怎樣？」

突然，「噗疵噗疵」的雜音傳來，隨後變成撥號聲「嘟嚕～嘟嚕嚕～」

我心想應該是手機壞了吧。

撐著傘，我走下了旋轉梯，這時我朋友打來了，我接起了電話。

我：「我忙完啦，要回去打卡下班囉。」

朋友：「喔！所以是你同事來找你吼，那她在哭什麼？然後又哭又笑，有病喔。」

Thinking about how my colleagues often mentioned strange occurrences in the warehouse, I became increasingly scared. I quickly took out my phone and called a close friend from that time.

Me: "Hey, hey, hey, talk to me."

Friend: "About what?"
Me: "Anything, just talk!"

Friend: "Oh! The weather is nice today." (Making small talk, but I was too scared to argue.)

Me: "Do you have any plans for the weekend? Want to go play StarCraft?"

Friend: "I’m not sure. Anything’s fine."

As I quickly organized the materials, our conversation continued...

After chatting for about ten minutes and reaching a stopping point, I heard my friend say, “What? Hello—”

Me: "What’s up?"

Suddenly, there was static noise, followed by dialing tones: “beep—beep-beep—”

I thought maybe the phone was malfunctioning.
Holding my umbrella, I descended the spiral staircase. At that moment, my friend called again, and I answered the phone.

Me: "I’m done, heading back to clock out."

Friend: "Oh! So it was your colleague looking for you? She was crying and laughing at the same time. Something’s wrong with her."

我：「什麼？？？？」

朋友：「就剛剛啊，你突然沒聲音，我就聽到雜音之後，聽到有一個女生在跟你說話，然後她就在哭哭啼啼的，然後又突然怪怪的笑。」

我：「好窩～我先走囉。」

手刀飛奔回到辦公室，立刻打卡，回家前衝去行天宮走一圈。

隔天，到辦公室後，同事問我昨天怎麼走這麼快，我就跟他們說我昨天的遭遇。

結果，所有人瞬間安靜。

Me: "What????"

Friend: "Just now, you suddenly went silent. I heard static and then a girl talking to you, crying and then suddenly laughing strangely."

Me: "Okay, I’m leaving now."
I sprinted back to the office, clocked out immediately, and rushed to Xing Tian Temple before heading home.

The next day, when I got to the office, a colleague asked why I left so quickly the previous day. I told them about my experience.
Immediately, everyone went silent.

他們跟我說了，在我請假的那週發生的故事。

那天，同事B在晚上七點左右到倉庫內拿講義，因為當天晚上課程的講義不夠了，需要緊急去拿舊版的存貨，當天，他一打開大門就覺得哪裡怪怪的，拿著手電筒，他就走到鐵架Ｃ的後面準備開燈，他手持左手的手電筒就照到的架子上的書，突然，在兩疊書的中間，他看到了一隻眼睛以及一抹微笑。

在祂臉上的那抹微笑，至今仍深深刻畫在他的心中。

They told me the story of what happened during the week I was on leave.

That day, around 7 PM, Colleague B went to the warehouse to get some handouts because there wasn’t enough for that evening’s class, and he needed to urgently retrieve some old stock. When he opened the big door, he immediately felt that something was off. Holding a flashlight, he walked to the back of Shelf C to turn on the lights. As he shone the flashlight on the books on the shelf with his left hand, suddenly, between two stacks of books, he saw an eye and a faint smile.

The smile on that face remains deeply etched in his memory to this day.
